Arsenal’s attempts of signing Vinicius Jr. have seemingly reached an end as the Brazilian has today signed a new six-year contract with Real Madrid.

The Gunners’ pursuit of the Brazilian had been one of the biggest stories of the transfer window so far.

With the 26-year-old’s contract set to expire in 12 months, the Premier League champions were monitoring the situation to see if they bring the winger to the Emirates.

However, Real made a brand-new contract offer on Wednesday which the player has seemingly found more agreeable, as the club have announced the player’s contract renewal on Thursday, keeping him at the club until 2032.

Arsenal will now have to look elsewhere to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.

On an Instagram post regarding the announcement, Vinicius said: “Eight years at the Bernabeu are too short… Six more years, and then forever.”

Vinicius Jr. joined Real Madrid in 2018, having so far won 14 trophies with the club whilst also finishing runner-up in the Ballon ’Or in 2024.
